Huonville Foreshore Junior Playground

New equipment for the Huonville Foreshore Junior Playground.

Due to the age, wear and tear of the existing equipment, the junior playground at Huonville Foreshore will be renewed.

The proposed design provides an upgrade in size to offer more opportunities for play and interaction, with a steel and cypress material scheme inspired by the surrounds.

 

New play equipment includes:

  • Two play huts
  • A connecting bridge
  • Fireman’s pole
  • ‘Bean stalk’ climbing bar
  • Slide
  • Scramble net
  • Concrete native animals

Please note the larger playground that is located beside the junior playground will not be affected by these works.

Update December 2019

Construction of the new junior playground is expected to begin in late January 2020. The larger playground will stay open during the works however minor disruptions may occur on the foreshore.

Update February 2020

Construction on the new junior playground will commence on Monday 17 February 2020. The project is expected to be complete by Friday 28 February. The larger playground will stay open during the works however minor disruptions may occur on the foreshore.

In response to feedback from the community, the design was altered to include a music tree and basket swing.
