The Huon Valley is the home of a growing population of makers and growers. They feed your spirit as well as your appetite!
It has a long history of fruit growing, being very well known and regarded for its apple growing. In more recent times, innovative and sustainability-focused apple and fruit growers have developed national award-winning ciders such as Willie Smith’s, Pagan Cider, Frank’s Cider and Simple Cider.
Wineries of the Huon Valley specialise in cool-climate wine varieties such as the multi-award-winning Home Hill Winery.
Specialty products such as saffron, culinary lavender, olives, honey, gin, vodka and beer, as well as specialty meats and delicacies are all available here. We have a strong network of small producers as well as several community gardens in most townships.
Cooking schools such as Fat Pig Farm and the Farmhouse Kitchen make for a foodie’s delight!
